Hoodie development Design sketch
The hoodie,
resolved.
A considered silhouette.
A closer look at construction.
Explore the hood shape, relaxed proportions and finishing details through a garment design study.
Original design illustration · Specifications to be confirmed
A development study. The project brief, sample history and final production record are still to be added.

A clear brief.
A considered garment.
Yuchen develops pullover and zip-up hoodies through full customization, adjustments to existing fits, or decoration and labeling of blank garments.
This design study shows how a hoodie project can be documented. The garment drawing is an original design illustration, not a manufactured sample. A verified client brief, sample history and production outcome are still required.

Development details
Get closer to
the details.
Look closely at the proportions and construction. The drawing is a starting point; fabric, measurements and finishing are confirmed through sampling.
Illustrated surface comparison. Loopback and brushed fleece are alternative interiors, not confirmed project materials.
01 / Material study
See the surface.
Choose the inside.
The outer face and inner finish deserve separate attention. Compare the illustrated surfaces, then review a physical swatch for the intended hand feel and drape.
- 01Knit face
Review the outer texture, color and finish.
- 02Loopback reverse
Visible yarn loops on the inside of the fabric.
- 03Brushed fleece reverse
A raised, fuzzy inner surface to compare with loopback.
Composition, weight, hand feel and wash result. These illustrations do not specify a selected fabric.
Proportion needs
measurement points.
Turn the intended silhouette into a measurement sheet. Compare the same points on every sample, with the measurement method kept consistent.
- Body width and length, shoulder drop and sleeve shape
- Armhole depth, cuff opening and hem position
- Fit photographs before and after finishing
Approved size chart, fit photographs, grading and agreed tolerances. No values have been supplied.
A hood with
an intentional shape.
Review the hood worn up and resting down. Define the opening, depth and attachment together with the body fabric.
- Panel construction and center seam alignment
- Hood depth, opening shape and neckline overlap
- Lining choice, seam bulk and drawcord details
Front, side and back hood photographs, pattern revision and approved construction details.
04 / Component study
The parts that
finish the hoodie.
A closer look at the components around the garment: the drawcord system, rib finish and labels. Review each piece together with the body fabric.
- 01Drawcord, aglets & eyelets
Specify cord width, length, end treatment and hardware finish.
- 02Rib cuff & hem
Review rib texture, finished depth, recovery and color match.
- 03Neck & care labels
Confirm artwork, material, size, placement and attachment.
Approved components, label artwork and a bill of materials. Drawings show options for review.
Print, embroidery & wash
Review the finish
on the actual fabric.
The decoration and wash sequence belongs in the project record. Confirm the combination on a sample before defining the production reference.
Supplied factory photograph · Not a project record
Print & placement
Confirm artwork scale, placement and alignment. Keep a print strike-off on the selected fabric, with the intended color and surface appearance recorded.
Supplied factory photograph · Not a project record
Embroidery & stitch definition
Review the embroidery sample on the selected fabric. Record thread, backing, density and placement, along with the appearance after the intended finishing process.
The finished sample
is the reference.
Document whether decoration happens before or after washing. Compare shade, hand feel, measurements and artwork appearance on the finished sample.

Sample revisions
Keep the reason.
Record the change.
A useful case study shows what needed attention and how the next sample addressed it.

Give every check
the same reference.
